The Power and Control Wheel
The Duluth Power and Control Wheel was developed in Minnesota during the 1980s . It was used as a way of helping victim-survivors to understand the type and nature of abuse that they had experienced. It includes examples of the range of tactics used by abusers, showing that abuse may or may not be physical violence. It can be used as a teaching tool both for professionals and victim-survivors. It can be found as a PDF version by clicking here PowerandControl

There are now different versions of the Duluth Wheel which can be downloaded from their website. These include wheels designed to address post separation abuse, economic abuse and abuse against members of different communities and cultures.
