Exciting News from Our Research Team!

Date

We are pleased to share significant developments from our research team, particularly from one of our dedicated PhD researchers, Ms. Kharis Hutchison. Her research focusing on the experiences of women with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in relation to domestic violence has garnered recognition at prominent academic conferences.

Poster Presentation at ECTRIMS 2024

Ms. Hutchison's poster titled “'I don't think they know enough about it': Women with Multiple Sclerosis and Domestic Violence and Abuse” has been accepted for presentation at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in MS (ECTRIMS) 2024, The World's Largest MS Research Congress. This opportunity allows her to spotlight the issue of domestic violence and abuse among people with MS to spark conversations on this invisible issue.

Abstract Accepted at Leeds Disability Studies Conference 2024

Additionally, her abstract “'It was like a drip-feeding effect': The Domestic Violence and Abuse Experiences of Women with Multiple Sclerosis” has been accepted for the Leeds Disability Studies Conference in September 2024. This conference provides a platform for critical discussions in disability studies and contributes to an important dialogue on the intersection of health and domestic violence and abuse affecting people with MS.
